Following the painful 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Hansi Flick spoke at a press conference to assess his players' performance. The German coach was blunt about the team's shortcomings at decisive moments in the match.

Self-criticism over defensive errors and the opposition's superiority

Flick stressed that the number of lapses proved costly: "We made too many mistakes, and at this level that is unacceptable. For the third goal, we should have closed down the shooter and put pressure on that area. That's why they won." Despite highlighting spells of good tactical organization, he acknowledged the Parisian side's quality: "PSG showed that they are still better than us in quick transitions. We lost, but we will learn from it."

Fitness concerns and worries over Dani Olmo

The Barcelona coach also acknowledged that fitness affected the team's performance in the closing stages: "In the last 15 minutes, we weren't at 100 percent physically. It's not an excuse, but the circumstances weren't ideal for preparing for this match."

He also raised concerns ahead of the upcoming fixtures when discussing the fitness of Dani Olmo, who finished the match in discomfort: "We'll have to see how he is. He took a heavy knock and felt some discomfort, so we'll have to wait to assess his condition."
