Matchday three of the Champions League league phase kicked off this Tuesday at 18:45 with two opening fixtures. While Borussia Dortmund got the job done in Azerbaijan, Fenerbahçe dropped more points against Slavia Prague.
Dortmund got the job done on Tuesday evening. A week after their defeat in Norway against Bodø/Glimt (1-0), BVB successfully navigated their trip to Sabah FC in Azerbaijan this time around. The German side won 2-1 thanks to a brace from Serhou Guirrassy.
With six points from three matches, Dortmund provisionally sit tenth in the league phase standings.
Fenerbahçe, however, had a much tougher evening. Thrashed by Aston Villa last week (6-0), the Istanbul club dropped points again in a 2-2 draw with Slavia Prague.
The Turkish side had raced into an early lead, scoring twice in just eleven minutes. But the Czechs refused to give up and snatched an equaliser in stoppage time.
Fenerbahçe are still searching for their first win in this Champions League campaign.
