Emiliano Martinez was stretchered off during Chelsea's clash with Everton following a nasty collision with defender Jarrad Branthwaite. The incident occurred around the hour mark, with play halted for a lengthy period as medical staff attended to both players.
The Argentine was seen awake and moving while being stretchered off the pitch at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Providing an update on TNT Sports, commentator Darren Fletcher said:
> "Only news we can bring you and bring you today is that he's been taken away to hospital which is the best place possible. > > "Emi Martinez on his way to hospital in Liverpool."
